FAQs
What does made to order mean?
Most of our jewellery is made to order, which means that we create your jewellery only once you have placed an order. One benefit of this is that we can offer a wider range of sizes and metal options – for example we can create rings in any UK size from A–Z, including half and quarter sizes. Production times for made to order jewellery vary depending on the complexity of the piece, the number of orders we currently have in production, and whether the piece needs to be sent to the Assay Office for hallmarking. Production times can be anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks – details are given on individual item pages.
What does OOAK mean?
Some of or jewellery is one-of-a-kind – or OOAK – which means that it is a special, one-off piece that can't be precisely recreated. These pieces often contain rare or one-off gemstones. Most of these pieces are ready to ship within 1–3 working days.
Will my jewellery be hallmarked?
All items which meet the minimum legal weight for compulsory hallmarking will be independently assessed and fully hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office. Lightweight items which fall below the legal threshold may not be hallmarked, but when possible will be stamped with the relevant metal denotation. Very small items may not be marked. Please see the hallmarking notice for help with understanding hallmarks. If you’d like an item to be hallmarked which isn’t sold as hallmarked by default, please contact us before ordering and we will arrange this for you for a fee.
Is your jewellery made from recycled metals?
Most of our jewellery is made from 100% recycled gold and silver. Exceptions to this are stated in the individual item details.
Is your jewellery suitable for vegans?
Yes, we consider our jewellery to be suitable for vegans. We don’t use animal derivatives in our jewellery – this includes pearl, shell, coral, leather, suede, wool and silk. We use vegan-friendly cleaning and polishing compounds when creating our jewellery. We don’t use tools made from animal skins, such as rawhide mallets or leather bench skins.
How much is delivery and how long does it take?
UK delivery is free. Most of our jewellery is handmade to order and dispatch times vary – these can be found in individual item details. Ready to ship items are usually dispatched in 1–3 working days, and typically arrive 1–3 days after dispatch. Please also see the delivery page for further info.
Where can I find returns and refunds info?
Most of our jewellery is non-returnable unless faulty, with a few exceptions. Please see individual item details and the returns page for further info.
How will my jewellery be packaged?
Our packaging is purposefully minimal, and most parcels will fit through a letterbox. All of our jewellery is sent gift boxed. Our boxes are fully recyclable, some are plastic-free, and all are made from partially or fully recycled materials. We’re in the process of switching to using 100% plastic-free packaging for all orders – if you’d like this option, please leave us a note at the checkout.
Can I cancel or amend my order?
Made to order items can’t be cancelled once payment has been received by default, but please let us know as soon as possible if there’s an issue with your order, and we’ll try to accommodate your request. Ready to ship items can be cancelled up until dispatch, via the contact page.
How should I care for my jewellery?
Always remove jewellery before exercising or sleeping, avoid contact with cosmetics, liquids and heat sources, and store jewellery in an airtight bag or box when not worn. Please read our jewellery care section for full details.
Does your jewellery tarnish?
All metal jewellery can develop a layer of patina, or tarnish, over time. The rate of tarnishing depends on the type of metal, exposure to sulphur-containing substances, and exposure to heat and moisture, which act as catalysts to speed up the tarnishing process. As a general rule, the higher the carat of gold, the slower the rate of tarnishing. Sterling silver tarnishes more quickly than fine silver or gold. Tarnish is non-harmful, and doesn’t need to be removed. However if you would prefer to remove it, we recommend doing so with a jewellery polishing cloth. Our jewellery care section contains more information on looking after your jewellery.
Do you offer resizing?
Some items, such as rings, can be resized for a fee. We don’t offer resizing for jewellery purchased from other brands. Please see our size guides for more information on finding the correct size.
My jewellery has developed a fault – will you repair it for me?
We offer free repairs for 6 months from the delivery date of your jewellery. This applies to production faults, and doesn’t include accidental damage, intentional damage, or damage which has occurred due to improper care. In these circumstances we may still be able to repair your jewellery for a fee. We don’t offer repairs for jewellery purchased from other brands.
Do you create custom or bespoke jewellery?
Yes, if you’re looking for a bespoke design or a custom variation on one of our existing pieces, please contact us to discuss your ideas.
Do you accept wholesale orders?
We welcome wholesale enquiries from retailers and stockists. We don’t manufacture jewellery for other brands.
